Duchesne Academy of the Sacred Heart is Houston’s premiere all-girls Catholic school for all grade levels, even Pre-K. Though it has a firm religious affiliation, this school leans strongly toward an emphasis on creating future leaders and should certainly be under consideration even if Catholicism isn’t your religion.
With a student/teacher ratio of 8:1, 17 Advanced Placement courses offered, ACT and SAT scores that are way above average, it’s hard to find something to complain about. However, this wonderful education does come with a price tag. Grades Pre-K to 4th can cost you up to $16.5k per year, middle school is nearly $18.5k, and high school tuition can cost more than some state colleges.
That being said, Duchesne has plenty to brag about. The campus is scenic and verdant. They have security patrolling the enclosed campus, and a student achievement list, sorted by foundational goals, that is more than a page long. Grades from parents on various review websites echo the Academy’s sterling reputation, commenting that the climate is much more temperate socially than most high schools with a marked absence of cliques.
Give Duchesne a look over to see if it’s the right fit your growing young lady as she continues on her journey toward womanhood. What requirements are you looking for in a private school?
