Nestled quietly in Hedwig Village is Spring Branch Middle School, a top 100 ranked middle school in the Houston area that serves Spring Branch ISD. A stone’s throw from Memorial High School, this school boasts a high level of diversity among students and faculty.
Faculty are deeply committed to the students, test scores exceeded district overall scores and most state proficiency scores in 2014. Spring Branch Middle Schools also offers Gifted and Talented testing for special young adults.
The campus is well-taken care of with parking in the front and an obviously new parent drop-off circle, a pristine track, and gorgeous new benches. Parents consistently rate this school highly, and though it’s public, it offers a range of courses for all ranges of interest.
On a personal note, I attended Spring Branch Middle School, and while ages 11-14 are some of the worst times of your life, the teachers at this school had my best interests at heart. From the counselor who encouraged me to try out for programs that suited me, to the teachers who supported me through my shyness and outbursts (one in particular is still a special favorite, even after high school and college), I have nothing but a glowing recommendation for Spring Branch Middle School faculty.
Times will be hard as long as kids have to grow up, but Spring Branch Middle School, though I graduated more than a decade ago, still has a sterling reputation for education, diversity and passion.
