The hustle and bustle of Houston can be a little overwhelming for some people, so they move to the outskirts of Houston in search of quieter neighborhoods. Friendswood is a great example of one of these locations right outside of Houston that offers both convenience of the city, and a safe neighborhood to raise a family.

Friendswood was established by Quakers in 1895 and is located on the southeast part of Houston just outside of Beltway 8 which offers a quick way into Houston. A few years ago, CNN named Friendswood as one of “America’s Top 100 Best Places to Live,” coming in at #51. It received this great achievement because of the low crime in the area, easy access to entertainment and shopping, a great sense of community, and great quality schools in the neighborhood.

There are a number of possible schools for the residents of the area. Most schools are a part of Friendswood ISD and Clear Creek ISD. Some notable ones include Cline Elementary, Friendswood Middle School, and Friendswood High School. Friendswood residents feel comfortable with the schools their children attend because of the superb school system and nurturing environments in the classrooms.

Many Friendswood residents choose to live here because Houston is a great city to work and live, but they need a quiet place to go home to at the end of the day. Friendswood is truly the best of both worlds and is truly one of the best neighborhoods our city has to offer. What do you think of the Friendswoods area?
