The Notable, Historic Neighborhood of Eastwood

One of the most notable neighborhoods in Houston has risen back to the top as one of the best places to live right now. Eastwood is a safe environment, in a convenient location with numerous education and employment opportunities in the area.

The historic neighborhood of Eastwood sits on the east side of downtown Houston and houses many Houston business people. The first residents of the neighborhood were business owners and entrepreneurs who contributed to the tremendous growth of the city of Houston.

Recognized as one of the first master planned communities in Houston, Eastwood was designed and developed in 1913 by William Wilson, who also developed the famous Houston Heights district. Although the neighborhood has been around for many years, the houses remain intact and up-to-date providing a modern feel while maintaining the historic atmosphere.

The residents can enjoy Eastwood Park, a great recreation area for its residents with a community pool, skate park, sports pavilion, playground, tennis courts, and biking trails. In addition to this neighborhood’s benefits, Eastwood has many great schools in the area for their younger residents including HISD schools: Lantrip Elementary, Eastwood Academy, Jackson Middle School and Austin High School.
