CITYCENTRE opened on the commercial graveyard of the once-decadent shopping mall called Town & Country. It has invigorated the area with all the luxury shopping the bygone mall had hoped to offer before—and then some!
Rife with upscale shopping, the retail space at CITYCENTRE has wisely strayed from big fashion depots and department stores that defected from Town & Country Mall in the 90’s leading to its collapse, and instead focuses on boutiques and straightforward, fashionable, luxury clothing and home goods. Places like Anthropologie, J. Crew, Sur la Table and Paper Source spring immediately to mind, and it’s sustainable, upscale businesses that make CITYCENTRE an epicenter for not just fashion but gifts and entertainment, too!
With an exterior layout (unlike most of Houston’s malls), CITYCENTRE naturally has unique aesthetic opportunities like natural fountains, a grassy lawn for children to play (conveniently located near Red Mango frozen yogurt and Ruggles Green outside seating), and lots of scenic balcony opportunities, even near the beltway.
There’s even some urban living being developed here as well as office space for clientele looking for a bit of opulence in the workplace. Hotel Sorella, a new luxury hotel in the area, opened its doors in recent years and it’s bound to impress guests from anywhere.
But at its heart, CITYCENTRE is about entertainment: with one of the few dine-in movie theaters in the more central Houston area, it’s a great place for dates or dinner, for wine (try the Tasting Room), for getting gifts during the holidays, for a place to entertain the kids, or for enjoying the live music sometimes playing on the green. This place really has a lot to offer—and it does so with refreshing style!
