If you are looking to spend some time outdoors with your family this weekend, Donovan Park in the Height’s District will easily win you over! Get ready for fun and fresh air, as this is the perfect place for bike riding and building imaginations at the playground.
Located at the intersection of two popular Houston bike routes, Heights Boulevard and MKT Trail, this park is easy to access. Once at the park, the kids will love it because Donovan Park is not your typical slides and swings park.
It consists of castle-like towers and its famous wooden train, that provide a variety of fun for kids of any age. In addition, parents can also feel at ease about the safety of their children. There is a surrounding fence to ensure a safer environment and relaxing time for everyone.
Donovan Park is not a public park owned by the city of Houston, it is owned and operated privately by surrounding residents. This means it is better maintained than most public parks so you can experience a clean, well landscaped park!
If you live in the Heights area or just want to bring your kids to a great park, visit Donovan Park for a day of nonstop play! Have you visited Donovan Park lately? How was the experience for you and your children?

I remember going to the Heights to see my great grandparents – they lived on Harvard Street. My dad was born in that house. So many wonderful memories of the Heights.
We’re so glad you have fond memories of the Heights, it’s a wonderful family community. Thanks for sharing with us Lori!
My son is all grown up now, but I would have loved a place like this to share with him when he was younger!
It is a beautiful park Susan; a wonderful sight to see and a nice place to get in a little exercise!
