Looking for a free, culturally-enriching activity to do this month? For 20 consecutive years now, The Japan Festival has been held in Houston’s Hermann Park near downtown, and this year is going to be one of the biggest yet. The organizers of the annual festival are proud to announce that the 2014 festival is expecting more than 20,000 people to attend their spectacular event!
The festival is funded and organized by the Japan-America Society of Houston which aims to educate and share the Japanese culture. The city of Houston is highly diverse, and this is a great opportunity for you and your family to learn more about the Japanese influence that is present in our city.
The two day festival is full of authentic arts, music, crafts, martial arts, traditional dance performances, shopping, and dining custom to Japan traditions, including tea! Attendance to the festival is free to the public, and tickets for food and beverages can be purchased at booths around the park.
