In Thai Nit Noi means “a little bit,” but, when you go to one of Houston’s 5 Nit Noi restaurants or 3 cafes, having a little bit is next to impossible. With every bite you want a little bit more!
Nit Noi delivers absolutely delectable Thai food to the Houston scene. It was listed among best Thai restaurants by Houston Press, Houston Journal, AOL CityGuide, and was voted one of the top 100 Thai restaurants in the USA. It’s even frequented by George and Barbara Bush.
While its seemingly bigger than life reputation precedes it, Nit Noi comes from Houston’s tradition of small businesses. The family business started in 1975 in the Philippines with Mama Alice, who is now 67 years old. When the family moved to Houston, Nit Noi opened its original location in 1987, and has been serving Houston for 27 years.
Mama Alice and her daughter-in-law Malisa make the famous Nit Noi sauce every morning and distribute it to all the other cafes in Houston to make sure it meets the standards of high quality and consistency that Houstonians have come to expect. Mama Alice’s son, Doi, who served his country for more than 20 years in the Air Force, manages all the locations.
Truly, it’s the family effort that makes the business so successful—and the food so great! It just must be made with love. Try the chicken with peanut sauce or their amazing crispy spring rolls!
As it expands, Nit Noi makes it a little bit easier to get “a little bit here, a little bit there, a little bit everywhere. Now Houstonians can enjoy a little bit more!
