Sometimes your typical shopping trip doesn’t yield you positive results when you are looking for something specific or unique. Well, Mercantile is spreading its wings and helping Houston shoppers everywhere!
The main idea Mercantile employees want people to understand is that this is not your regular grocery store and coffee shop. Sure they have the usual milk, eggs, and cheese, but they also have so much more.
Assistant manager Stacy Wright told CultureMap, “We’re not just a coffee shop. We’re a specialty grocery store.” Some of the special items they are proud to carry include the carefully curated selection of beer and wine which can be tried in the new wine tasting area. In addition to the exceptional beverages, Mercantile carries many unique desserts and snacks.
Houston’s Rice Village was fortunate to be the home of the first Mercantile grocery store and coffee shop, but the Montrose District can rejoice as they have decided to open a second location. The first spot has done so well in the short time it’s been open that they created the second location with even more improvements than the first!
The Montrose area is known for having many coffee shops to choose from, but none of them carry any specialty items like Mercantile. Even with all of the competition in the area, the positive response Mercantile has received is overwhelming!
Mercantile is open daily from 7am-9pm at two locations in Rice Village and Montrose. Make it apart of your next shopping adventure and let us know all about it. What gems did you find and how was your experience? Share it with us in the comments section!
I love supporting small local businesses like this! Hope to see a Mercantile soon on the west side of Houston!
Mercantile is definitely picking up steam Susan! We are looking forward to more small local businesses in Houston as well. Let us know if you get a chance to pay them a visit!
